Adult Bible Classes

 

Sunday Morning Adult Classes

Sunday 9:30 a.m.

March through May 2010

 

Auditorium Class

Walter Edge will lead this class in a study of, “Romans.”  This class will be an in-depth study of Paul’s letters to the Romans.  This class will challenge you about sin and your faith and love for Christ. 

 

Faith Builders Class—Fellowship Hall Rooms #1 & 2

This class alternates between a textual study and a topical study.  Dave Phillips is the teacher and will lead them in a study of, “Acts—The Beginnings of the Church.”  They will consider the marvelous events in the birth of the church.

 

Fellowship Hall Class—Fellowship Hall Rooms #3 & 4

This class is taught by Larry Scroggs.  He will lead this class in a study of the book, “Directions for the Road Ahead: Stability in Change among Churches of Christ.”  Larry will consider some of the distinctive biblical concepts that churches of Christ have tried to restore during the last two hundred years.

 

20 & 30’s Class—Room 120

This class is for all young adults in their 20’s and 30’s.  Alan McClurg will lead this class in a study of “Prayer.”  They will examine several passages that deal with prayer and learn some of the important principles given.

 

Hope of Glory Class—Room 123

Ron Roberson will lead this class in a study of, “Select Psalms.” Ron plans to consider several of the Psalms.  He will consider the message that David is trying to get across as he praises God.

 

Caring Class—Room 124

The Caring Class is a discussion class. Keith Munn will lead this class in a study of “Living Day by Day.”  All of us face trials and problems that seem to be impossible to overcome, but God gives us the strength to make it one day at a time.

 

Cornerstone Class—Room 128

Byron Howell is the teacher for this discussion class. They will study, “Hebrews-A Better Way.” The Hebrews writer is trying to revive a tired church.  He tells them that Jesus is a better way than all the other answers given.

 

Good News Class—Room 130

Eddie Lewis will lead this class in a study of, “Revelation—The Apocalypse of Jesus Christ.”  Clear interpretation of apocalyptic symbols and other symbols will be given.  The letter was addressed to the, “seven churches of Asia,” but it has a message for the church today. 

 

Wednesday Night Classes
Wednesday at 7:00 p.m.
March through May 2010

Auditorium Class—“Hebrews—Jesus is Better”

Ron Roberson will lead this class in a study of the book of Hebrews.  With all the trials facing the early church, the Hebrew writer is trying to revive this tired church.  “Jesus is better” than all the others answers given!

 

Fellowship Hall 3&4— “Empowering Couples”

Zach Shappley and Eddie Lewis will lead this interactive class in a study of 10 issues that couples face.  The study is about how to turn these issues into strengths in your marriage. They will consider specific things couples can do to maintain and develop a great marriage.

 

Room 123— “Walking Through the Old Testament”

Glenn Daily will lead this class in a study of several of the major prophets in the Old Testament. Each class will be an over view of the book and then consider some of the important lessons taught in that book.

 

Room 124— “The Apostles”

Archie Vest will lead this class in a study of each of the New Testament Apostles.  He will consider their life and ministry.  The church was built on the leadership of these men.  Learn more about these men that changed the world.

 

Room 128— “Contemporary Studies”

Dave Phillips will lead this class as they look at Biblical approaches to some contemporary issues that seem to be troubling the church.  He will consider several issues including women’s role in the church and instrumental music.

 

The Summer Series begins on June 9—September 1.  Each Wednesday night all the adult classes will meet in the auditorium to hear a special speaker.  The theme this year is: “This is The Life—Living Every Day for Christ.”  The children will have their regular classes.
